Meet Malik

"Leadership Delivering Results For Our Community"

My Background

I am Malik Davis, a candidate for District 2. I am homegrown in DISTRICT 2 on the east side and come from a bloodline of servant leaders. I am a servant of the Lord first, I am a son, brother, nephew, uncle, and a friend. I am a graduate of Cape Fear High School and after graduating high school I went straight into the workforce. I began working as a Certified Nursing Assistant helping and assisting the elderly along with those who could not take care of themselves. Next, I transitioned to the school system in Cumberland County Schools working in administration followed by working at the Cumberland County courthouse as a Clerk in the clerk of courts office under the leadership of Lisa Scales.

Currently I am now serving in the District Court Judges office assisting 10 District court Judges daily. I am a firm believer that a great work ethic will make you successful. My work ethics has gotten me thus far and I won't stop working hard for my community. I hold myself accountable in everything I do and strive to do everything with excellence.

My Experience

Growing up I felt like I didn't have a voice, I had always been the quiet one in the room and I would always be reluctant to speak because I didn't feel like my voice mattered. As I aged and matured throughout life I began to gain self-confidence and understood that my voice carries weight. It was then when I realized not only can I use my voice to speak up for myself, but I could use my voice to speak up for others. I have now found enjoyment in being a voice for myself and those that are around me.

I have always had the heart to serve. I began at the age of 6 years old serving with my grandmother feeding the less fortunate at the local Salvation Army. I also began serving in my local church at the age of 19 and still serve to this day.

In 2019 I was a part of the inaugural millennial advisory commission here in the city of Fayetteville, NC. During my time on the millennial advisory commission, I served as the chair and successfully completed my term in 2023. I currently serve on the board for the Fascinate U Children's Museum while also serving as a mentor in the Fayetteville Juvenile Mentorship program. Presently, I hold the role as Vice President of the Young Democrats of Cumberland County. Collectively serving on these various boards of Commission taught me how to collaboratively serve with other individuals with different opinions and different ideas while I also gained professional experience for the political realm.

My experience as a community leader has taught me the importance of listening to the concerns of my fellow constituents while affirming that working hard to serve does make a difference. As your representative, I will fight for your interests and work tirelessly to make our community a better place to live. I will be a FRESH authentic voice for all my Constituents in District 2.

What makes me the best candidate for District 2 is that I can relate to YOU because I am YOU.
